Arctic Monkey's New Album "Humbug"

England's Arctic Monkeys have risen to fame in the past four years with their first record, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, selling roughly 300,000 copies within the first week in the UK. Two years later they released their second full length album, Favourite Worst Nightmare, and picked up an array of various awards in different countries from the U.S. to Ireland to Japan. Now two years later yet again, the Arctic Monkeys are on the brink of releasing their new album. August 25, 2009 marks the third full length album and it is widely anticipated by people from all over the world. It is expected that Humbug will sweep even more critics and listeners under the rug that is the Arctic Monkeys.

Their first single, Crying Lightning, is very different yet strangely similar to their other past works. It features the band at its best as the song starts off intoxicatingly slow and suddenly accelerates in the middle of the song after the first chorus, with heavy hitting guitar, drums, and bass leading into a quicker paced song that continues for the duration. So far for the boys of the Arctic Monkeys, things are looking well as the release of their new album draws closer and you can only expect the buzz surrounding this new album to amplify as August 25 approaches and I for one will be a part of it.

You can purchase the first single off Humbug online at iTunes or Amazon digitally, or of course acquire it via other methods. In case you get caught, let's get our story straight; you sleepwalk downloaded it while I was attempting to stop you but you overpowered me, right? If we have to really sell it, we'll kick my ass to make it believable. Or you could, you know, listen to it right now via this link: Crying Lightning

Sincerely,
The Guy Blogging

P.S. - Is there an album you are currently anxiously waiting for?

  1. I wish Klaxons would just hurry on up and release their second album. Alas, it has been pushed back to next year. :(
